"Reaching"

I took the reference photo a year ago. I loved the white birch tree reaching up to this deep blue cloudless sky. Well, I found the photo and was able to do an acrylic painting of it. 8 x 10 in a beautiful deep wood frame accented with gold. $150 framed. Will remove from frame $125. Carole Sue Roberts Workshop

I attended an oil painting workshop held by Carole Sue Roberts through the Aiken Artists Guild. I do not normally paint still life's but I believe you can always learn something from another artist. Well, I really enjoyed myself. I went outside my comfort zone and am really pleased with the results. The one still life with the larger pink camelia is on oil primed linen. What a beautiful surface to paint on. The other is on a standard gessoed board. I hope you like them as much as I do. I do apologize for the glare, there was no flash used.
